Jax Golden Ego, the Team's first red, was born in West Virginia on 24 Jun 02. As Greyhound number 12, she arrived in the Gilley household on 25 Mar 05. Golden was donated by the Ebro sub-chapter of GPA-Florida/Emerald Coast.

Unlike most Greyhounds, she seemed to have a tail possessed by evil spirits. Not only did she terrorize the rest of the family in short order, but she broke the darned thing twice. The first time was 12 Apr 05. She broke it again, one joint below the splint on 20 May 05. I have the radiographs to prove it! For a while Golden thought her name was "Quit Whangin' Dat Sucker!" She whacked and broke a framed award from the Sandy Paws folks. We thought it was covered with Plexiglas; it was not. After the splints were removed, she somehow exorcized the demons from that demented appendage and had no further problems with it.

Her fortes are dancing freestyle to the Puppy Song and high jumps from a stand still. When hiking trails, she has an extraordinary sense of direction. At home, she alternates bouts of rough play with long cuddle and snuggle sessions.

Golden is one of the fastest Greys we have ever had, both mentally and physically. Nevertheless, she is a blonde in more than just color.
